Shuttle Launches Two New NAS Products:OMNINAS KD21 / KD22
(September 30, 2013) Shuttle Inc., the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of small form factor (SFF) Application PC Business Center showcased its first own branding NAS product – OMNINAS KD20 in Computex Taipei 2012. With a compact and stylish design, it has also been received highly recommend from many international media following its official appearance in the market. This year, Shuttle launches another two new NAS products – OMNINAS KD21 and KD22. Featuring the compact shape of highly acclaimed KD20, KD21 maintains the stylish aluminum housing with sliver and white color, and KD22 uses the color with hairline brush black.
OMNINAS KD21 and KD22 are both 2-bay NAS models. They support Dual Single-HDD mode and support RAID 0, 1 and JBOD modes. They are also built-in USB 3.0 port and SD card-reader with “auto copy” function that users can store digital content, such as photos and videos, quickly and easy to the NAS. Besides, OMNINAS are bundled with a DVD of the popular Acronis True Image Personal Edition software. This software provides a powerful data backup capability that supports full backups or selective backup of key files, increasing flexibility and convenience of data backups.
KD22 especially features built-in IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless network, which supports AP mode. As long as KD22 already gets connected with the Internet, smartphones, tablet PCs, laptops or other Wi-Fi compatible devices, users can search and access NAS database directly and experience the convenience of wireless.
The processor upgrades! KD21 comes equipped with Marvell 88F6707 1.0GHz SOC chipset and KD22 is equipped with more advanced Marvell 88F6707 1.2GHz SOC chipset. Besides, internal memories are both upgraded to DDR3 512MB, and the read/write speed can reach up to 110MB and 75MB per second (Note). In addition to the enhanced transmission efficiency, users’ costs are reduced as well. Both KD21 and KD22 comply with IEEE 802.3az network energy conservation standards. Users can have lower power consumption when NAS is at stand by or sleep mode. This not only saves electricity costs for users but also is environmental friendly.
Following KD20’s popular simple operational Web interface, one-button hot-swap function and software, such as Print Server, iTunes Server, DLNA Media Server – Twonky, etc., KD21 and KD22 also add FTP Server, Wake on LAN and schedule management functions, enabling advanced users to manage their NAS and to access data more conveniently.
