Introducing Haswell processing power in a 3-liter PC
Shuttle Inc. today announced the release of their latest barebones 3-liter series, the XH81 and XH81V. Both systems support 4K and are designed to operate in a range of ambient temperatures, from 0-50 ⁰C. The XH series is based on an Intel H81 express chipset and designed for current Intel processors with an LGA 1150 socket and up to a TDP of 65W. They support up to 16GB of DDR3 memory via two SO-DIMM slots. Both systems include a 90 W external power supply and are equipped with Shuttle’s renowned heatpipe cooling system plus smart fan technology, keeping things cool for 24 hour operation.
The XH series is highly customizable for either workplace or home environments as users can configure the systems with up to three storage drives. There are installation options for three 2.5" HDD/SSD drives or alternatively two 2.5" HDD/SSD drives plus an optical slimline drive. A 3.5" drive can also be installed using a PHD4 accessory which is sold separately. The systems are both highly connectable with DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, COM ports, and 5.1 Audio.
The XH81 and XH81V are each equipped with two COM ports at the rear (1x RS232, 1x RS232/422/485 compatible) which support 0V/5V/12V. The XH81 offers an optional 3x RS232 COM port PCM3 accessory at the front panel to increase COM port connectivity for customized projects. Another difference between the two models is that the XH81 also supports a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) via an LPC connection.
The series has a dimension spec of 240 x 200 x 72 mm (L/W/H) and is VESA mountable for easy installation. The systems can also be stood up vertically with an additional purchase of the PS01
The XH81 and XH81V are versatile barebones slim PCs that offer easy customization and support high processing power. Made for a range of applications, from digital signage, vending machine, and kiosk to home and small office use, the XH81 and XH81V are now being distributed globally.
